Critical Illness Protection

Critical Illness Protection can be combined with Level Term Assurance or Mortgage Life Insurance to provide additional cover.

Critical illness Protection coverage and definitions differ from provider to provider. It's important to realise that not all insurance companies offer identical protection and we recommend you engage one of our independent financial advisers to discuss your requirements.

On average, critical illness protection insurance, provides against the financial impact of 30 different types of critical illness.   Critical illness Protection claims pay a lump sum (sum assured) if you are diagnosed with an illness that meets your chosen providers criteria and definitions during the term of your plan.   Critical illness Protection is generally available in 2 forms, they are as follows:

Independent Protection: The amount of critical illness protection can be more or less than the amount of life insurance sum assured.  In the event of a claim under the critical illness protection, life cover is not affected and the plan will continue to run.

Integrated Protection: The amount of critical illness protection is the same as the life insurance sum assured. In the event of a claim under the critical illness protection the plan ends.
